Katchment Kleaners' Ten-Point Service Includes:
_____
1. Clean Catchment Tank
We brush and sanitize the exposed, inside, surface of your catchment liner, skim the surface, remove any large debris and we vacuum the floor and wall of the tank. In a typical cleaning, we remove between 12” and 18” of water from the tank during the cleaning process. Some tanks require more water to be removed.
2. Install Nets and Clamps
We install/replace the nylon nets and stainless steel clamps on each of your influent rainwater pipes. There is no cost for the nets or clamps, they are included in the service.
3. Inspect Your Cover
We’ll inspect your cover and frame for condition, holes, or tears, and return it to its original position. We can provide you with a new replacement cover and / or frame if you elect to purchase one.
4. Replace Filter Cartridges
We will optionally replace your filter cartridges from your own stock, or you can purchase them from us.
5. Inspection of Pressure System
We check the start / stop pressures on your system, check the pressure tank bladder for ruptures, and check your system for leaks.
6. Test/Reset Pressure Tank Pressure
Your pressure tank should be set to one-to-two pounds per square inch below the start pressure on your pressure switch. A 30 to 50 PSI switch, for instance, should have a tank pressure of 28-29 PSI.
7. Shock the Water
We’ll add the appropriate amount of oxidizer to “shock” the water so as to burn out any organic waste. Most tank owners add a small amount of chlorine or bleach to their tanks to sterilize the water. Often this will occur prior to the cleaning and sometimes the customers will shock or pre-treat the tank themselves. We recommend regular, ongoing addition of chlorine to the water to maintain cleanliness.
8. Condition the Water
We’ll add some minerals to the water to condition the it. Rainwater is notoriously acidic, so the addition of a small amount of minerals can make the feel of the water more pleasant to your skin. We recommend the regular, ongoing addition of minerals to the water to protect the metals in your plumbing system.
9. Secure Your Cover
We’ll return your cover to its original position, being careful to avoid situations that might allow debris to pool. We can provide you with a new replacement cover if you elect to purchase one.
10. Afterwards, We’ll Update and Instruct
Finally, we’ll report back to you on what we did, what we found, any recommendations that we have, and, if you’d like, book a follow up appointment for six or twelve months into the future.

Floating Suction Installation – A Small Upgrade with a Big Impact
_____
A floating suction can be installed on your catchment tank for an affordable one-time cost:
• $125 for 1” suction lines
• $150 for 1.25” suction lines
• $200 for 1.5” suction lines
Estimates are always free and there’s no obligation — contact us to schedule your install or learn more.
Why Add a Floating Inlet to Your Rainwater Catchment System?
1. Extend Filter Life
The dirtiest water in your tank usually sits at the bottom near the pump inlet — exactly where traditional suction lines pull from. That means your pump is often pulling up sediment and pushing it straight into your filters. A floating suction draws from the cleanest part of the tank — just a few inches below the surface — helping your filters last longer and keeping your water cleaner.
2. Avoid Strong Bleach Smell
Bleach is heavier than water and sinks to the bottom of the tank when added. Without a floating inlet, your pump can pull in that highly concentrated water, spreading the odor throughout your home. A floating suction pulls from the top, giving the bleach time to diffuse and lowering the risk of harsh smells in your system.
3. Access More Water When You Need It
In a drought or dry stretch, every gallon counts. Standard suction lines often leave usable water behind at the center of the tank. A floating inlet reaches that extra water — sometimes hundreds of gallons — giving you a little more time until the next rainfall and helping you avoid a costly water delivery.

Catchment System Equipment Replacement & Upgrades
_____
Ask us about replacing or upgrading your catchment system equipment — including pumps, filters, pressure tanks, and complete system overhauls. We provide custom equipment solutions designed to meet your home’s specific needs.
Catchment tank equipment is often treated as an afterthought — tucked under the house or stuffed inside a box, out of sight and hard to access. But poorly installed systems and outdated components can reduce water quality, lower pressure, and shorten the life of your system.
One client had their entire pump system inside a plastic storage bin, with plumbing cobbled together from PVC, copper, iron, and flexible tubing. Their filters were obsolete, and access was nearly impossible.
We worked with them to design and install a brand-new equipment area — one that’s clean, functional, and built to last.

Pump House: Before & After

Here's the setup before. Ten square feet of area, two tiny filters, one pump, a UV and a pressure tank.

Before, the equipment was stored in a plastic closet, just a few feet tall.

Before, a better view of the width of the equipment closet.

Tight quarters before...

After, the pad is poured and the framework installed, ready for the equipment.

The filters have been installed, the pump and pressure tank connected, and running.

Doors on, plenty of room, good ventilation, and clean-looking.

Quantum Disinfection™ – Whole-House Water Treatment Without Power or Chemicals
_____
We install Platinum by Clairify, a Quantum Disinfection™ unit designed to kill bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms in your filtered catchment water — without electricity, chemicals, or maintenance. Each unit treats up to 200,000 gallons or two years of household water.
How It Works:
Quantum Crystals™ use advanced micro-crystal technology based on quantum mechanics. These charged crystal surfaces disrupt the membranes of microorganisms, causing them to collapse — effectively neutralizing harmful pathogens before they reach your taps.
Where It’s Installed:
The Quantum unit is placed after your sediment and carbon filters. As long as your system filters to 5 microns or finer, it’s ready for Quantum treatment.
